Now that I am into the menopause phase of my life and can not sleep anymore, I thought that maybe blogging would give me something to do during these long sleepless nights. I am 51 years old and have been married to my husband Joe for almost 28 "blissful" years. We have two children, Matt who is 24 and Kate who is 19. We also have three furry children, kitties Tessie, Tobi and Tilly. We are sort of empty nesters...Kate lives at home but is at school or work most of the time so we really don't see her much. If you are wondering why my blog is named Cillian Luck, it is because our family motto has been, "If it wasn't for bad luck, we would have no luck at all!" I guess in the coming blogs, I can expand on that!
I have a fairly large family, two sisters and a brother. My oldest sister has three girls and ten grandchildren, my other sister has two grown children and my brother has three. My mom and dad live in the same town as me, which is so nice. My husband has one sister who lives close by. His parents are both deceased. I guess you are wondering about the ten grandchildren that my sister has! My oldest niece Kristen, has 8 children with the 9th on the way! She and Brian are amazing parents and their children are all beautiful and well behaved. My other niece Caroline and her husband Mark have an adorable little boy and the third niece from my oldest sister, Melanie and her husband Adam, have a cute little boy Isiah and one due any time now! (So, my sister will have two more grandchildren by the end of this year! Wow!) I have two other married nieces, my other sister's daughter Wendy is married to Jim and my brother's daughter Laura is married to Tim. That leaves my children, my sister's son Jimmy and my brothers son Graham and daughter Mary Paige who are all single! Not for long, though. My son Matt is the next cousin to get married! He is getting married on December 13 to a wonderful girl named Jessie!
Family has always been important to me and I have tried to keep in touch with my brother and sisters. I wanted my children to know their cousins. We have all lived in different areas of the country, but managed to get together, usually at family gatherings for special occasions. I am hoping that Matt's wedding will be the next big family get together! Everything is just so much more special when family is there. My children love their cousins and always are excited to see them. It is tough, though, because we are all so busy and live so far apart! (So if any of you are reading this, know that I love you and think of you often!)
I think that this will do it for my first post. I am going to figure out how to add photos, too! That should be a challenge for me...it took me long enough to get signed in to blogger! Until later. I think I am actually getting tired. I have to be at work in the morning. It is the first of the month...closing time for us accounting people! Good night!
